Three cheers, y'all. Postino's second San Antonio location on Broadway is now open.
The Arizona-based wine bar chain joined the city's food and beverage scene in 2023 with an initial outpost in The Rim, and recently finished transforming a former paint store at 2600 Broadway near Brackenridge Park into its second home in town.
While Postino is definitely a chain outfit — it has more than 30 locations across the country — San Antonio can feel fully comfortable embracing this operation as one of its own. Co-founder Lauren Bailey was born in the Alamo City, and each location strives to maintain a unique feel that embraces local history.

At the new Broadway Postino, that means a mural on one wall crafted out of colorful paint chips and ceilings in the restrooms plastered with Sherwin-Williams advertisements. The funky midcentury decor was largely scooped up from area vintage stores. A large, roughly 10-person seating area around a velveteen golden sofa, mosaic-top tables and plush green chairs feels like a visit to grandma's tucked away in a corner of a swanky, date-night worthy destination.
The new Postino can technically seat almost 200 people between its indoor and outdoor spaces, yet it feels like a small and intimate neighborhood restaurant. The noise level is dialed in for good conversation and clear communication with the staff. The tables aren't crowded on top of each other, and many seats offer a near-private environment perfect for catching up with friends and family or a date night.
Postino's food options lean heavily Italian, with bruschetta at the core. They offer more than a dozen toppings for crusty bread (gluten-free is available) in pairings of four per order. For other sharable items, consider the whole roasted Crispy Cauliflower head dressed with golden raisins and romesco sauce, meatballs in pomodoro sauce or filet and chicken skewers over garlicky yogurt. Charcuterie boards loaded with meats and cheeses, soups, salads and a half dozen forms of panini round out the menu.
